The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, recently organized a free JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) training for 500 Senior Secondary School (SS3) students. This educational initiative was held at the HOMAT CBT Centre in Igbogbo, Lagos State, to prepare the youth for the upcoming 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The program serves as a major highlight of the activities marking the monarch’s 10th coronation anniversary. It was facilitated through the Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali Royal Foundation, a non-profit organization established to drive human capacity development and self-help projects within the Igbogbo Kingdom.
Beneficiaries were drawn from six public secondary schools in the Igbogbo-Bayeku Local Council Development Area. These include Zumratul Islamiyah Grammar School, Community Secondary School (Baiyeku), Lagos State Model Girls College (Agunfoye), Reri Secondary School (Oreta), Oreyo Grammar School, and Civil Service Model College.
During the event, the monarch emphasized that the transition from paper-and-pencil exams to digital testing requires students to be technologically savvy. He warned that minor technical errors in a CBT environment could cost a candidate an entire year, making this expert training essential for their academic success.
The training session provided the students with hands-on practice with the JAMB software, exam strategy coaching, and career guidance. By simulating the actual exam environment, the foundation aimed to demystify the computer-based process and boost the students’ confidence ahead of the high-stakes national examination.
Dignitaries at the event, including the Chairman of Igbogbo-Bayeku LCDA, Ahmed Olamilekan Aroyewun, offered further encouragement to the participants. The Chairman announced special incentives, promising grants for any student who scores 300 and above, as well as logistical support for those pursuing professional degrees.
Community leaders praised Oba Kasali’s visionary leadership, noting that he views knowledge as the “lasting crown” for the younger generation. The monarch expressed his hope to see the students celebrate their university matriculations next year, cementing his legacy of prioritizing education during his decade on the throne.
