Governor Aliyu Redeems Promise, Constructs New Classrooms for Sokoto Islamic School

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has fulfilled a promise to enhance educational infrastructure by constructing new facilities at an Islamic school in the Wamakko Local Government Area.

The governor successfully delivered a newly constructed block of two classrooms at the Sheikh Habibu Darul Qur’an Wal Hadith Islamiyya School located in Gidan Salanke.

This project was completed as a direct response to a request made by the school’s management during a recent graduation ceremony.

The need for expansion was driven by a significant increase in the school’s student population, which had begun to outstretch the existing facilities. Recognizing the urgency, Governor Aliyu approved the project to ensure students no longer faced overcrowding during their lessons.

During a personal inspection of the site, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the contractor’s performance. He specifically commended the quality of the masonry and the fact that the project was delivered ahead of the scheduled completion date.

To further support the school’s immediate needs, Governor Aliyu also issued a directive for the immediate provision of desks and chairs for the new classrooms.

This move is intended to ensure that the learning environment is fully functional for both students and teachers.

The school’s leadership expressed deep gratitude for the prompt intervention, noting that the Governor’s quick action demonstrates a genuine commitment to education. This project is part of a broader state initiative to renovate and equip schools across Sokoto’s 23 local government areas.
