Ekiti State University (EKSU) conferred an honorary Doctor of Finance on philanthropist Mr. Abayomi Adeyeri during its 30th convocation.

The award recognizes his significant impact on the financial sector and his dedication to national development.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele praised Adeyeri as a corporate leader. The university highlighted his career excellence and integrity as the primary reasons for this prestigious academic recognition.

Adeyeri is a 1990 EKSU alumnus who transitioned from a Botany degree to a successful career in marketing and finance. He holds an MBA and belongs to several professional management institutes.

The honor also celebrates his philanthropy in Ondo State through a foundation named after his late mother. His initiatives focus on providing healthcare, infrastructure, and educational scholarships to the underserved.

Adeyeri expressed deep gratitude to the university’s Governing Council and Alumni Association. He described the doctorate as a humbling milestone that reflects his alma mater’s standard of excellence.

The ceremony saw over 10,000 students graduate alongside the conferment of honorary degrees. EKSU uses such awards to inspire current students by showcasing the achievements of distinguished former students.
