NAICOM, Stakeholders Applaud New Insurance Industry Book in Lagos

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and key stakeholders in Nigeria’s insurance sector have commended a newly released industry book, describing it as a significant contribution to documentation, research, and knowledge development within the industry.

The commendation came during a book launch event held in Lagos, where regulators, industry operators, and professionals gathered to celebrate the publication, which focuses on trends, evolution, and key personalities shaping Nigeria’s insurance landscape.

Representatives of NAICOM noted that the book comes at a critical time when the industry is undergoing reforms and transformation aimed at deepening penetration and improving public confidence. The commission emphasized that comprehensive documentation of sector developments is essential for policy formulation, strategic planning, and sustainable growth.

Stakeholders at the event highlighted the importance of preserving institutional memory, noting that the publication provides valuable insights into regulatory milestones, operational challenges, and innovations that have defined the sector over the years.

They added that such resources would serve as a guide for both current practitioners and future entrants into the industry. Industry leaders, including insurance executives, brokers, and academics, praised the author for providing a well-researched account of the sector’s journey.

They described the book as a vital educational tool that would support capacity building and enhance understanding of insurance practices in Nigeria. According to them, the availability of credible and structured industry information would also contribute to strengthening investor confidence and fostering transparency across the sector.

NAICOM reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote knowledge sharing and professional development, stressing that intellectual contributions such as books and research publications are key to advancing the insurance industry.

The event concluded with a call for more collaborative efforts among stakeholders to document industry progress, promote awareness, and position Nigeria’s insurance sector for greater competitiveness both locally and globally.
