Embrace SDGs, Presidential Aide Urges Nigerians on Easter
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, has called on Nigerians to use the Easter season as an opportunity to renew their commitment to national development and the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In an Easter message issued through her media aide, Desmond Utomwen, Orelope-Adefulire extended greetings to Christians and underscored the significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of renewal, sacrifice and victory of light over darkness.
She urged citizens to reflect these values by promoting unity, compassion, and shared responsibility in efforts to build a better society.
The presidential adviser also drew a connection between Easter and the SDGs, noting that the principles of inclusiveness, equity and shared prosperity embedded in the global development agenda align closely with the message of the season.
Orelope-Adefulire further called on stakeholders across government, the private sector, and civil society to remain committed to advancing sustainable development and ensuring that no one is left behind.
She stressed that achieving the SDGs in Nigeria requires a collective approach driven by collaboration, resilience and sustained action.
Expressing optimism, she said the country can overcome its challenges and achieve meaningful development outcomes for both present and future generations through continued dedication and a shared vision.
