We’ll Defeat Insecurity, Vows Tinubu, Commends Abiodun at Gateway Airport Inauguration

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to tackle insecurity across Nigeria, assuring citizens that ongoing efforts will ultimately defeat terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities.

The President made this statement during the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport in Ogun State, where he also praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for delivering what he described as a transformative infrastructure project.

Speaking at the event, Tinubu expressed confidence that Nigeria’s security challenges would be overcome through coordinated strategies and sustained investments in security agencies. He noted that his administration is committed to strengthening intelligence gathering, equipping security forces, and enhancing collaboration among relevant institutions.

We will win the fight against insecurity. Our resolve is strong, and we are making steady progress,” the President said. Tinubu also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in driving economic growth, describing the newly commissioned airport as a critical asset that will boost trade, attract investors, and create employment opportunities.

He noted that the airport’s cargo and passenger capabilities position Ogun State as a key logistics hub in Nigeria’s economy. The President commended Governor Abiodun for his vision and commitment to development, stating that the project reflects effective leadership and alignment with the federal government’s economic agenda.

In his remarks, Abiodun described the airport as a “gateway to prosperity,” emphasizing its role in facilitating agro-exports, industrial expansion, and regional connectivity. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and strengthening the state’s economic potential.

The commissioning ceremony also featured the inauguration of additional projects, including security vehicles and agricultural equipment, aimed at enhancing safety and productivity in the state.

Tinubu’s remarks come amid ongoing security concerns in various parts of the country. However, the President maintained that with sustained efforts and cooperation from all stakeholders, Nigeria will overcome its security challenges and achieve lasting stability.
