Troops Nab Suspects Over Covert Plateau Killings
Troops under Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have apprehended several suspects allegedly connected to a string of covert killings in Plateau State.
The arrests were made during intensified intelligence-led operations and stop-and-search activities across key flashpoints in Jos and nearby communities, according to security sources.
The suspects are believed to have taken part in targeted attacks carried out discreetly in isolated locations, often at night.
During the operations, security personnel intercepted the individuals at strategic points and recovered weapons alongside other incriminating materials.
The development follows growing concern over sporadic killings and the discovery of bodies in remote areas, which have heightened anxiety among residents.
Authorities confirmed that those arrested are in custody and are being interrogated as efforts continue to uncover possible accomplices and wider criminal networks
Security officials reiterated their resolve to maintain sustained pressure on criminal elements to restore stability in the state. They also called on residents to stay calm and support ongoing efforts by sharing credible and timely information with law enforcement agencies.
