A former waiter, Adedamola, has recounted how an encounter with Pastor Oluwajimi Odukoya left a lasting impression on him, describing it as a defining lesson in humility.
Adedamola shared the experience in a video posted on TikTok, where he expressed hope that the cleric would eventually see his testimony. The post has since attracted innocence widespread reactions, including a response from Odukoya, who wrote, “Thank you Sir. I am grateful. God continue to bless and keep you!”
In the video, Adedamola said the incident occurred about four years ago while he worked as a waiter at a restaurant in Ikeja, Lagos, earning a monthly salary of N33,000. He explained that although he had known Odukoya as an actor, he had never met him prior to that day.
According to him, what stood out during the encounter was the pastor’s consistent display of courtesy. He said Odukoya repeatedly expressed gratitude each time he was attended to, a gesture he described as uncommon among many affluent customers he had previously served.
Adedamola contrasted the experience with other interactions in the hospitality sector, noting that waiters often face disrespect from patrons. He cited to instances where customers spoke harshly or treated service staff with suspicion and disdain.
He said the brief interaction with Odukoya changed his perspective, instilling in him a value he continues to hold onto. Reflecting on the moment, he described feeling honoured to have served the pastor, adding that the lesson in humility has remained significant in his life journey.
