A member of the House of Representatives, Akin Rotimi, has revealed that over ₦1 billion worth of projects have been executed across his constituency in Ekiti State, aimed at improving infrastructure and livelihoods.

Rotimi, who represents the Ekiti North (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency, said the projects cut across key sectors such as education, healthcare, rural development, and youth empowerment.

He explained that the interventions include the construction and renovation of classroom blocks, supply of educational materials, installation of solar-powered facilities, and upgrades to primary healthcare centres in several communities.

According to the lawmaker, part of the funds was also channelled into empowerment programmes designed to support small-scale businesses, artisans, and unemployed youths through skills acquisition and financial assistance. Rotimi noted that the projects were based on needs assessments and consultations with community stakeholders, including traditional rulers and youth leaders, to ensure they address pressing local challenges.

He stressed that constituency projects should have direct and measurable impact on the people, adding that his focus remains on delivering sustainable development at the grassroots.

The disclosure comes amid growing public interest in the execution of constituency projects nationwide, with stakeholders calling for greater transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.

Rotimi, however, assured constituents of continued efforts to attract more federal projects to the area, particularly in road infrastructure and agricultural support, to further boost economic activities and improve living standards.
