Super Falcons Goalkeeper, Nnadozie Disappointed over WAFCON 2026  Postponement

Super Falcons’ goal tender, Chiamaka Nnadozie has hit out at the 2026 WAFCON postponement in Morocco.

Citing ‘unforeseen circumstances,’ CAF announced that the competition, previously slated for early 2026, will now take place between July 25 and August 16.

Nnadozie noted that the rescheduling has interfered with the Super Falcons’ momentum, revealing that the players were already in the process of gearing up for the competition.

“We, the players, are not happy that the #WAFCON was postponed. We were preparing hard for it,” she said in an interview with journalist Osasu Obayiuwana in Lancing, Sussex.

The Brighton & Hove Albion Women shot-stopper has been superb for Brighton and & Hove albion Women since she joined them last summer.

Notwithstanding the delay, focus remains on the Super Falcons’ defense of their continental title, following their record-breaking 10th WAFCON win against hosts Morocco in the last tournament.

At the same time, Nnadozie’s presence is vital to Nigeria’s quest to retain the title, as her impressive recent performances offer a significant lift to the squad’s prospects.
