Soludo Appoints Chiamaka Nnake as Anambra Secretary to State Government
Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Nnake, who previously served as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning and Chairman of Solution Fun City Limited, steps into the role with a background in public administration, finance, and economic strategy.
As commissioner, she was responsible for coordinating the mobilisation, planning, and allocation of state resources to support socio-economic development initiatives.
She also held leadership positions across several state institutions, including the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service Board, and the Small Business Agency.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, Nnake has also played key roles in reform programmes, serving as the state’s focal person for ease of doing business and social investment initiatives. She currently represents Nigeria as Chairperson for the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) Programme.
Before joining public service, she worked as a Senior Strategy Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria, where she handled more than 30 engagements across sectors including finance, agriculture, and the public sector. During her tenure, she was recognised with the CEO Award in 2021.
She also contributed to the development of Anambra Vision 2070, a long-term development blueprint, and supported the Combined Transition Plan adopted by the current administration. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Business Analyst at IHS Towers and as an Equity Research Analyst at Meristem Securities Limited.
Nnake, who hails from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area, has over 13 years of experience spanning finance, strategy, and economic planning.
Academically, she holds an MBA from Lagos Business School, where she earned Beta Gamma Sigma lifetime recognition for academic excellence, and a first-class degree in Accounting from Benson Idahosa University.
She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), a member of its National Advisory Committee, and has completed part of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme.
She has also attended executive training programmes, including a course at Harvard Kennedy School, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy. Nnake is married with three children.
