Of Over 400 Iranian Missiles Fired; 92% Interception Rate Confirmed, Claims IDF

The Israeli military has confirmed that Iran has launched over 400 ballistic missiles since the start of the conflict. Despite the scale of the offensive, Israel’s multi-layered defense systems have maintained a 92% interception rate, successfully neutralizing the vast majority of long-range threats.
However, some projectiles have breached the defensive shield, with recent impacts reported in two southern Israeli towns. These strikes caused significant damage and resulted in approximately 175 people requiring medical treatment, underscoring the ongoing danger to civilian areas during heavy barrages.
An IAF investigation into the hits in Dimona and Arad attributed the misses to isolated technical factors rather than systemic failures. Officials clarified that while these specific missiles got through, previous attacks on the same region were successfully thwarted by the defense network.
In response, the IDF has ramped up preemptive strikes within Iran, targeting over 400 sites in a single day. These operations focus on destroying ballistic missile launchers and drone facilities to degrade Iran’s remaining arsenal, estimated at roughly 1,000 missiles.
International allies, including the United States, have actively assisted in tracking and intercepting incoming threats. A recent successful interception of a missile targeting a UK-US base in the Indian Ocean further illustrates the wide geographic reach of Iran’s current offensive operations.
As the conflict enters its third week, the IDF claims to have neutralized 60% of Iran’s mobile launchers. Nevertheless, the frequent missile volleys keep the region on high alert, while international diplomatic efforts struggle to find a path toward de-escalation.
