Shettima Visits Maiduguri Blast Victims, Vows Stronger Security Push

Vice President Kashim Shettima visited the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital to sympathize with victims of Monday’s multiple explosions. He reassured survivors that the Federal Government remains resolute in its commitment to decisively confront the perpetrators and end terrorism.

 

Accompanied by Borno’s Deputy Governor, Usman Kadafur, and NEMA Director-General, Zubaida Umar, the Vice President assessed the victims’ conditions. They met with hospital leadership to ensure those injured in the blasts were receiving the highest level of medical care and attention.

 

Before arriving, Shettima mourned the 23 deceased victims during a Ramadan Tafsir in Abuja, describing the attackers as having “forfeited their place in the human race.” He emphasized that “no religion sanctions the killing of the innocent,” condemning the senseless violence.

 

Vowing that the “madness” of Boko Haram would not prevail, Shettima announced increased investments in military equipment and logistics. He declared, “Be assured that no matter how long the night is, it must give way to the light of the dawn.”

 

The Vice President extended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s condolences to the people of Borno and the Northeast. He stated that his visit served as a demonstration of the administration’s firm solidarity with the state during this difficult period of tragedy.
