Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has officially dissolved his first-term cabinet. This decision marks a significant transition as the governor concludes his initial tenure and prepares for the next phase of his administration in the state.
The announcement was conveyed through a formal memo issued by Dr. Nwabufo Nwankwo, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). The memo served as a direct instruction to all political appointees currently serving under the administration.
According to the directive, all affected political appointees were ordered to hand over their duties to the most senior civil servants or permanent secretaries within their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). This transition was expected to be completed by the close of work on March 18, 2026.
The dissolution is a standard procedural move as the governor begins his second term, having promised to do more for the people of Anambra. The hand-over process ensures that government operations continue smoothly under the supervision of career civil servants until a new cabinet is formed.
In addition to the hand-over instructions, the governor has scheduled a mandatory meeting with all outgoing first-term cabinet members. This meeting is intended to provide a formal conclusion to their current roles and discuss the transition process moving forward.
The scheduled meeting is set to take place on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 10:00 am. The venue for this gathering is the ANSEC Chambers, where the governor is expected to address the outgoing team directly.
While the cabinet has been dissolved, the administration’s focus remains on its developmental goals for Anambra State. Stakeholders and citizens are now looking forward to the constitution of a new cabinet that will drive the governor’s vision for his second term.
