Iran Accuses Netanyahu of Drawing U.S. Into War
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has alleged that the United States was pulled into the ongoing conflict with Iran by Israel, placing direct blame on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Araghchi said Washington’s involvement in the war was not independently driven but influenced by Israel’s leadership. The United States was drawn into this war by Israel, or more precisely by Netanyahu himself,” he stated. The comments come amid escalating hostilities involving Iran, Israel, and U.S. forces, with intensified airstrikes and retaliatory attacks reported across the region.
The conflict has seen increased military activity, including missile exchanges and targeted operations against key installations and personnel, raising concerns about a broader regional crisis. Iran has maintained that the United States lacks a clear objective in the conflict, accusing Washington of shifting its position between different goals.
Iranian officials continue to frame the war as an act of external aggression rather than one initiated by Tehran. Meanwhile, Israel and its allies insist their actions are necessary to counter security threats linked to Iran’s regional activities.
The growing tensions have drawn international concern, with warnings that further escalation could destabilize the Middle East and affect global economic stability, particularly energy supplies.
With no immediate signs of de-escalation, Araghchi’s remarks underscore the widening divide between the parties involved, as diplomatic solutions remain uncertain and the risk of a prolonged conflict increases.
