Tinubu’s Efforts to Stabilise Naira will Secure His Re-election, Says Suleiman
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wale Sulaiman, has said that growing global recognition of the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly efforts to stabilise the naira, could strengthen the president’s chances of winning a second term in office.
Sulaiman, a United States-based neurosurgeon and politician, made the remarks during an engagement with journalists in Ilorin, Kwara State, where he discussed the impact of the federal government’s economic policies and the political outlook ahead of the next election cycle.
According to him, the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms, including measures aimed at strengthening the national currency and restructuring key sectors of the economy, are beginning to attract positive attention internationally.
He noted that such recognition could translate into increased confidence among Nigerians and investors, potentially boosting support for the president.
He argued that stabilising the naira and implementing structural reforms are essential steps toward restoring Nigeria’s economic stability and improving the living conditions of citizens.
Sulaiman also praised the administration of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, describing his leadership as focused and impactful.
He commended the governor’s efforts in infrastructure development, social programmes and governance reforms in the state. The APC chieftain said the progress recorded in Kwara under AbdulRazaq demonstrates the importance of continuity in governance and policy implementation.
Speaking on the broader political landscape, Sulaiman urged Nigerian leaders to prioritise policies that would stimulate economic growth, create jobs and strengthen institutions.
He also called on professionals in the diaspora to contribute their expertise toward national development. He emphasised that sustained reforms and effective governance at both federal and state levels would play a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s political and economic future.
