Onigbongbo LCDA Implements 35% Women Representation, Says Chairman

The Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Moyosore Adebanjo, has revealed that women account for 35 per cent of the newly inaugurated Executive Council, underscoring his administration’s commitment to promoting female leadership.

Adebanjo made the announcement during the first edition of the Chairman’s Business Exchange, themed “Give to Gain,” which convened business leaders, policymakers, and representatives from the organised private sector to enhance collaboration for economic growth and community development.

The event also coincided with celebrations marking International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026. Key attendees included the Governor’s Special Advisers on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Oreoluwa Finnih-Awokoya; Taxation and Revenue, Abdul-Kabir Opeyemi Ogungbo; and Climate Change and Circular Economy, alongside several members of the business community.

Speaking at the programme, Adebanjo stressed the importance of partnerships between government and the private sector in driving economic progress. “Strong economies are not built by the government alone. They are built through partnership. When government and enterprise work together, development moves faster and prosperity becomes shared,” he said.

The council chairman further announced the creation of a Public–Private Partnership (PPP) Desk within his office to strengthen engagement between local businesses and the LCDA. The initiative aims to attract investment and promote sustainable development across the council area.
