Kano State Allocates ₦255.3m for Dialysis, Dental Equipment to Boost Healthcare

Kano State Government has approved ₦255.3 million for the procurement of dialysis machines and dental equipment to strengthen healthcare services across the state.

The approval, made by the State Executive Council under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration, aims to improve access to specialised medical care and enhance public health infrastructure. Of the total allocation, a portion will be used to acquire dialysis machines for the Abubakar Imam Urology Centre, a key facility for patients with kidney-related ailments.

The new machines are expected to expand treatment capacity and ease the burden on existing equipment. Another segment of the funds will be directed towards dental equipment and materials under Phase II of the state’s dental health programme.

The equipment will be distributed to selected health facilities to improve oral healthcare services and support medical personnel in providing quality treatment.

Officials said the initiative forms part of broader reforms to strengthen Kano’s healthcare system, expand specialised treatment options, and reduce the need for residents to seek medical care outside the state.

Governor Yusuf’s administration has emphasized the importance of prioritizing the health sector, which has received significant allocations in the 2026 budget to upgrade hospitals, expand medical facilities, and improve service delivery across Kano State.

Authorities expressed optimism that the investment in dialysis and dental equipment would enhance patient care, reduce treatment delays, and contribute to better health outcomes for residents across the state.
