Enyimba, Remo Stars, Shooting Stars Claim Wins as Rangers Held
Several teams recorded important victories across the Nigeria Premier Football League matchday fixtures, with Enyimba FC, Remo Stars, and Shooting Stars among the sides securing all three points.
At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Bendel Insurance edged Kun Khalifat FC 2-1. Akpan opened the scoring in the fifth minute before Solomon doubled the lead in the 41st minute. Lekan pulled one back for Kun Khalifat in the 53rd minute, but Insurance held on to secure victory.
Barau FC recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Abia Warriors, with Umar netting twice in the ninth and 30th minutes to seal the result.
Bayelsa United also claimed a 2-1 win against Warri Wolves FC, while El Kanemi Warriors and Katsina United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw after Abdulrahman scored for the hosts and Collins equalised.
Nine-time champions Enyimba FC defeated Plateau United 2-0, thanks to second-half goals from Odeh and Ufere.
Elsewhere, Kwara United were held to a goalless draw by defending champions Rangers International FC, while Niger Tornadoes also played out a 0-0 stalemate with Kano Pillars.
League leaders, Remo Stars continued their strong form with a 2-1 victory over Nasarawa United. Joseph opened scoring in the 62nd minute before Dauda equalised for Nasarawa in the 83rd minute. Ibe then struck late in the 88th minute to hand Remo Stars the win.
In one of the most entertaining matches of the round, Shooting Stars SC defeated Wikki Tourists FC 3-2. Ibrahim, Emmanuel and Al Ameen scored for Shooting Stars, while Musa and Taiwo found the net for Wikki Tourists.
The match between Ikorodu City FC and Rivers United FC is scheduled to be played tomorrow.
