Arsenal, Man United Win as City Held; Spurs Snatch Late Draw at Liverpool
A dramatic weekend in the Premier League saw important wins for Arsenal and Manchester United, while Manchester City dropped more points in the title race and Tottenham Hotspur rescued a late draw at Liverpool.
At the Turf Moor, Burnley and AFC Bournemouth played out a 0-0 draw, with both sides striking the woodwork in a game short on finishing quality.
Bournemouth extended their unbeaten run but missed the chance to close in on the European places.
Brighton & Hove Albion secured a 1-0 away win against Sunderland, with Yankuba Minteh scoring the decisive goal in the 58th minute at the Stadium of Light to move Brighton into the top half of the table.
At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal claimed a dramatic 2-0 win over Everton. Teenager Max Dowman made history by becoming the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history, scoring with the final kick of the match after assisting Viktor Gyokeres for the opener in the 89th minute.
Newcastle United boosted their push for European qualification with a 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Anthony Gordon scored the only goal in the 18th minute after a swift attacking move involving Tino Livramento and Joe Willock.
Title contenders Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham United at the London Stadium. City took the lead through a looping cross from Bernardo Silva, but Konstantinos Mavropanos equalised shortly after with a powerful header, leaving City nine points behind Arsenal with eight games remaining.
At Old Trafford, Manchester United strengthened their top-four hopes with a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa. Goals from Casemiro, Matheus Cunha, and substitute Benjamin Sesko secured the win after Ross Barkley briefly levelled for Villa.
Leeds United held Crystal Palace to a goalless draw at Selhurst Park despite playing more than half the match with 10 men after Gabriel Gudmundsson* was sent off. Dominic Calvert-Lewin also missed a first-half penalty for Leeds.
At the City Ground, Nottingham Forest and Fulham* shared the points in another 0-0 draw. Forest thought they had found the winner through Dan Ndoye, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur snatched a dramatic 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield. Dominik Szoboszlai had given Liverpool the lead with a superb free-kick, but Richarlison struck in the 90th minute to earn Spurs a crucial point.
The results leave Arsenal firmly in control of the title race, while the battle for European qualification and survival continues to intensify across the league.
