Taraba Nursing College Rebuts NELFUND Extortion Charge

By 𝔸bdulrazak Tomiwa

The management of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Jalingo, has denied claims of extorting ₦5,250 from students following NELFUND disbursements.

Provost Dorcas Dungule dismissed viral social media reports as baseless, noting that the school was never contacted for comment.

Some students have already admitted to making the posts, and an internal investigation is currently underway.

Dungule explained that the fees—totaling ₦12,000 for logbooks and administrative costs—are standard requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria for all students, regardless of loan status.
