The Nigerian Army has announced that successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026 are to report for officer cadet training at the Officer Cadet Training Wing of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry in Jaji on Friday, March 27, 2026.

In a public announcement, the Army stated that the list of successful candidates for the DSSC 29/2026 Selection Board has been published online on its official recruitment portal.

According to the statement, all successful candidates are expected to report with specific items required for the training exercise. These include writing materials, original academic and professional credentials with the online printout showing their passport photographs and several clothing items such as plain white round-neck vests, royal-blue shorts, white canvas trainers, maroon-red vests, navy-blue tracksuits, white and blue long-sleeve shirts, black ties, and black belts.

Candidates are also required to bring four pairs of white socks, two pairs of black socks, black and white trousers, a dark-coloured lounge suit, two pairs of national dress or casual wear, a rubber-strapped wristwatch, black cover shoes, swimming trunks, two white bed sheets and pillowcases, a grey or army-green blanket, football boots, and a pressing iron.

The Army added that female candidates must report with additional items including a pair of black low-heel cover shoes, four dark-coloured lounge skirts, four pairs of tight black or blue shorts, and two pairs of trouser suits.

Serving military personnel among the successful candidates have also been instructed to report with their release letters and official passes from their commanders or commanding officers.

The Army warned that candidates who fail to report for training on the specified date will automatically forfeit their slots to candidates on the reserve list. However, those on the reserve list are advised not to report to the training venue unless contacted to fill available vacancies.

The statement further noted that no vacancies would be available for reserve candidates after April 20, 2026.
