Gulf Leaders Furious Over Iranian Attacks — US Envoy

The United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, has said leaders across the Gulf region are “furious and outraged” following a series of missile and drone attacks linked to Iran that targeted key infrastructure in several Middle Eastern countries.

Speaking during discussions at the United Nations, Waltz stated that the strikes have angered governments across the Gulf and heightened fears of a broader regional conflict.

According to him, the attacks have strengthened cooperation among Gulf nations and their allies against Tehran’s actions. Regional officials say several facilities—including airports, ports and energy infrastructure—have been threatened or targeted in recent attacks across Gulf states such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

Waltz warned that the escalation could destabilize the Middle East and disrupt global energy markets, especially if attacks continue to threaten shipping routes in the strategic Strait of Hormuz—a critical passage for the transportation of the world’s oil supplies.

The situation has prompted urgent discussions at the United Nations Security Council, where several countries have condemned the strikes and called for an immediate halt to attacks on civilian and economic infrastructure across the Gulf region.

Security analysts say the latest tensions are tied to the broader confrontation between Iran and its regional rivals, as well as ongoing military developments involving the United States and Israel.

Despite rising tensions, diplomats say efforts are ongoing to prevent the crisis from escalating into a wider war that could threaten stability across the Middle East and disrupt global trade and energy supply chains.
