Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has departed the country on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, according to government sources.
The visit is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the areas of economic cooperation, energy, and regional security.
Officials said the trip would provide an opportunity for Sharif to hold high-level discussions with Saudi leaders, including Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have long maintained close diplomatic, economic, and strategic ties. Riyadh has often provided financial support and investment assistance to Islamabad during periods of economic difficulty.
During the visit, Sharif is expected to discuss avenues for expanding trade, investment opportunities, and collaboration in key sectors such as energy and infrastructure.
Analysts say the trip also comes at a time when Pakistan is seeking greater economic partnerships and support from allies as it works to stabilise its economy and strengthen foreign investment.
Further details of the meetings and agreements expected during the visit are likely to be released by Pakistan’s government after the prime minister’s engagements in the kingdom.
