Sirens Sound in Jerusalem as Iran Launches Missiles Into Israel

Air raid sirens sounded across Jerusalem and parts of central Israel on Tuesday after the Israeli military warned that missiles had been launched from Iran, marking another escalation on the 11th day of the ongoing conflict between the two countries.
The Israeli military said its air defence systems were activated to intercept the incoming missiles. Residents in Jerusalem reported hearing explosions shortly after the warning was issued, suggesting interception attempts by defence systems.
Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, said there were no immediate reports of direct injuries from the latest missile strike. However, medical teams were treating a small number of people who were injured while rushing to protected shelters, as well as others suffering from anxiety.
Since Iran began launching missiles toward Israel in retaliation for joint strikes carried out by the United States and Israel, first responders say at least 11 people have been killed and dozens more injured across Israel.
On Monday, shrapnel from intercepted missiles reportedly killed one man and seriously wounded another in central Israel after blasts were heard across the region following another barrage from Iran.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Israel’s military campaign against Iran was far from over. In a statement released on Tuesday, Netanyahu said the offensive was “not done yet,” signalling that further operations could follow.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has expressed hope that the conflict could end soon, saying he believed the confrontation would be resolved “soon,” despite the continuing exchange of attacks.
The ongoing hostilities have heightened fears of a broader regional escalation as both sides continue military operations and missile exchanges.
