Ondo Non-Indigene Groups, Pro-Tinubu Network Pledge One Million Votes for 2027
A pro-government political group, the Progressive Network for Tinubu (PNT), alongside leaders of non-indigene communities in Ondo State, has declared support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced during a rally of non-indigene stakeholders in the state, where organisers said they had begun mobilising residents across various communities to increase voter turnout in support of the president.
Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the Progressive Network for Tinubu, Olumide Obadele, said the coalition of non-indigene groups had unanimously backed Tinubu’s second-term bid.
According to him, the communities involved comprise about 20 different groups living and working in Ondo State, and their support is expected to translate into a significant increase in votes for the president in the next election cycle.
Obadele noted that non-indigene residents contributed about 30 per cent of the votes recorded for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election and expressed confidence that the figure would increase in 2027.
He said the group is working toward delivering at least one million votes for the president in the state during the next general elections.
The PNT director-general also disclosed that the mobilisation drive involved extensive engagement with stakeholders across non-indigene communities, adding that the initiative had received support from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
He urged members of the communities to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the next election, stressing that broad participation in the electoral process would be critical to sustaining support for the president.
Obadele also stated that internal disagreements within the group had been resolved, adding that members were now united in their efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election.
Also speaking at the rally, the President of Non-Indigenes in Ondo State, Usor Fidelis, described the gathering as a formal demonstration of support for the president’s leadership.
Fidelis said the event symbolised unity among residents of diverse ethnic and professional backgrounds who have settled in the state and contribute to its social and economic development.
She added that the non-indigene community which includes traders, artisans, professionals and entrepreneurs from different parts of the country, remains committed to promoting peace, unity and national development.
Fidelis expressed appreciation to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his role in strengthening the Progressive Network for Tinubu platform in the state and supporting efforts to mobilise residents.
She added that the rally served not only as a political gathering but also as a show of solidarity among residents determined to support leadership they believe will advance Nigeria’s stability and development.
