Okpebholo Performs Groundbreaking for 100MW Power, LNG Plants in Edo
Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has performed the groundbreaking for a 100-megawatt power plant and a liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing facility as part of efforts to boost energy supply and industrial development in the state.
Speaking during the ceremony on Monday, Okpebholo said the projects represent a major step by his administration toward achieving energy independence and strengthening the state’s economic base.
Reliable power supply remains critical to development, noting that the initiative is designed to attract investors, create employment opportunities, and stimulate economic growth, he added.
The governor said the projects also reflect growing investor confidence in the state and the business-friendly environment created by his administration.
Okpebholo added that his government would continue to support investments that promote opportunity, prosperity, and sustainable development for residents of the state.
The 100MW power plant and LNG processing facility are expected to contribute to improving energy infrastructure and expanding industrial activities in Edo.
