Nigeria’s DisCos Receive 2,984MW From National Grid

Nigeria’s electricity distribution companies received a combined 2,984 megawatts (MW) of power from the national grid as of 10:38 a.m. on March 9, 2026, according to the latest load allocation data.
The figures show that Abuja Electricity Distribution Company received the highest allocation with 516MW, followed closely by Ikeja Electric, which got 510MW.
Eko Electricity Distribution Company received 436MW, while Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company was allocated 322MW.
Further breakdown shows 218MW went to Benin Electricity Distribution Company, while Enugu Electricity Distribution Company received 209MW.
Similarly, Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company got 188MW, while Kano Electricity Distribution Company was allocated 182MW.
The data also showed that Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company received 170MW, while Jos Electricity Distribution Company got 152MW.
Yola Electricity Distribution Company received the lowest allocation of 81MW.
The total allocation of 2,984MW reflects the electricity distributed to the country’s 11 power distribution companies from the national grid at the time of the report.
Nigeria’s electricity generation and distribution have continued to fluctuate due to a combination of factors including gas supply constraints, transmission limitations, and infrastructure challenges across the power sector.
