Oyo State Government Partners with Federal Schools to Boost Education, Security

The Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has announced its readiness to collaborate with all Federal Government-owned schools located within the state.

This initiative aims to strengthen educational standards and enhance the security of students across various public institutions.

Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, the Commissioner for Education, expressed this commitment during a courtesy visit from the management of the Police Secondary School, Igboora. He emphasized that the ministry remains the central coordinating body for educational development in Oyo State.

The Commissioner noted that although some institutions are federally owned, a significant portion of their students are indigenes of the state. Consequently, the state government feels a responsibility to ensure the academic success and welfare of these students.

The synergy is expected to create a more integrated approach to managing the security and academic needs of all learners. By fostering a cordial relationship, both federal and state institutions can share resources and strategies for better educational outcomes.

Earlier, the Commandant of the Police Secondary School, CSP Ogunlade Fisayo, explained that the visit was intended to seek greater recognition for the institution. The school is currently the second largest of its kind in the South-West, with over 750 students.

CSP Ogunlade highlighted that the school serves both civilian and police families, making it a vital part of the local community in Igboora. She pledged the school’s full cooperation with the state government to promote high-quality education.

The Oyo State government reiterated that such partnerships are essential for the overall advancement of the education sector. This move aligns with the administration’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the interests of Oyo State residents regardless of school ownership.
