Tinubu Appoints Ibrahim Masari as Special Adviser on Political Affairs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, a close political ally, as Special Adviser on Political Affairs.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Masari previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Political Affairs, a position he was appointed to by Tinubu in 2023. His elevation to Special Adviser marks a promotion within the administration.

Before joining the current administration, the Katsina-born politician served as the Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Congress during the tenure of former party chairman Adams Oshiomhole.

As Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Masari will work alongside Yau Darazo, who was appointed to the same role by President Tinubu in July 2023.

The presidency said the appointment is part of efforts to strengthen political coordination within the administration.
