The Nigerian Air Force neutralized several high-ranking terrorist commanders during precision airstrikes in the Sambisa Forest and Mandara Mountains.
These operations, conducted under Operation Hadin Kai, aimed to dismantle insurgent strongholds in the Northeast.
Intelligence-led surveillance identified key locations where commanders were coordinating attacks. The resulting strikes successfully destroyed strategic logistics bases, including hidden shelters and ammunition dumps used by the groups.
Military officials confirmed that the loss of these leaders has caused significant disarray within the terrorists’ command-and-control structure. This success is viewed as a major blow to insurgent operations in the Borno State axis.
Beyond the personnel neutralized, the strikes destroyed various vehicles and motorcycles used by the terrorists for mobility. The NAF stated that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to deny insurgents any safe haven.
The Chief of Air Staff praised the troops’ professionalism and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to restoring peace. Security forces remain on high alert to protect local communities and prevent any retaliatory actions.
