Ex-President Jonathan Hosts New Bayelsa Deputy Governor in Otuoke

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has hosted the newly inaugurated Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Peter Akpe, at his Otuoke residence.
This formal visit served as a gesture of respect following the state’s recent political transition.
The Deputy Governor led a delegation of officials to seek the counsel of the former president. Jonathan remains a highly influential figure whose guidance is sought by new administrations within the state and nation.
Jonathan congratulated Akpe and urged the new leadership to prioritize Bayelsa’s development. He emphasized that unity and selfless service are essential to meeting the high expectations of the public.
The former president also called for political peace and stability across the state. He advised the executive arm to work harmoniously with all stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of democratic dividends.
Akpe expressed gratitude for Jonathan’s leadership and his enduring role as a peacemaker. He assured the elder statesman that the administration is committed to building on previous foundations of progress.
