Around 100 residents of the Ife North Local Government Area in Osun State received free medical services and food items on Friday.
The initiative focused on supporting the vulnerable and elderly members of the community.
The outreach was organized by friends of Akinyode Oyewusi, the Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, to celebrate his birthday. It provided essential healthcare services to those who gathered at the Ipetumodu town hall.
Beneficiaries had access to free medical consultations and tests for malaria and Hepatitis B. Additionally, the program included eye screenings, the distribution of free glasses, and various medications for those in need.
Representing the lawmaker, his wife, Mrs. Adeola Oyewusi, emphasized his commitment to the well-being of his constituents. She assured the community that the Deputy Speaker would continue to prioritize their interests and welfare.
The event also featured the distribution of free food items to help alleviate hunger among the residents. Community members expressed their gratitude for the critical healthcare support and the relief materials provided.
Beyond health, the occasion was used to rally political support, with Mrs. Oyewusi urging residents to vote for Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming 2026 election. This ensures continuity and further development within the state.
