BAT Ideological Group Congratulates Tunji Disu on His Appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police

The BAT Ideological Group, under the leadership of its Convener, Comrade Bamidele Atoyebi, has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Assistant Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu on his well deserved appointment as the Acting Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Tinubu.
The group describes the appointment as a deliberate and well-considered decision, noting that AIG Disu brings to the office a wealth of operational, administrative, and intelligence experience acquired over decades of service in the Nigeria Police Force.
His appointment follows the resignation of IGP Kayode Egbetokun and comes at a time when the nation continues to prioritize effective policing, public safety, and institutional accountability.
BAT Ideological Group expresses confidence that AIG Disu’s background in crime prevention, urban security management, and effective policing which the president stands for amongst other things, position him well to strengthen internal security and curb emerging security threats in the country.
Disu’s academic and professional profile reflects a strong commitment to capacity building and continuous learning, with qualifications spanning criminology, public administration, forensic investigation, international relations, and entrepreneurship.
The BAT Ideological Group urges Nigerians to grant him the needed cooperation and allow the new Acting Inspector-General the space to concentrate and seamlessly discharge his duties responsibly and without undue distractions, while holding the institution to the highest standards of accountability and service.
The group wishes him a turbulent-free tenure as he assumes the role and expresses optimism that his leadership will contribute meaningfully to safer communities and improved public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
