19 More Nigerians Face US Deportation as List Hits 113

By Rachel Akper

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has intensified immigration enforcement operations, adding 19 more Nigerians to its deportation list, bringing the total number of Nigerians processed for removal to 113 within 21 days.

The DHS disclosed that the deportation drive is part of a broader “worst-of-the-worst” enforcement initiative by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), targeting non-citizens with serious criminal convictions and final removal orders.

According to the immigration authorities, the 19 newly listed Nigerians were convicted of offences including sexual assault of a minor, fraud, assault, drug trafficking, and money laundering.

A statement accompanying the list described the operation as part of efforts to strengthen U.S. border security. It added that the convicts were arrested by ICE officials and would be deported after the completion of immigration procedures.

The statement read in part that DHS was highlighting “the worst of the worst criminal aliens arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” adding that the agency was fulfilling its enforcement mandate under its leadership.

The names of those newly added to the list include Adeolu Solabu, Oladayo Agboola, Chinonso Ochie, Oluchi Chime, Samuel Omorodion, Sunday Adediora, Sunday Kunkushi, and Mkpouto Etukudoh. Others are Marcus Unigwe, Kehinde James, Blessing Uchanma, Victor Adebisi, Richard Ugbah, Olaniyi Ojikutu, Oluwamuyiwa Olawoye, Okechukwu Amadi, Femi Jolayemi, Anthony Asanya, Izuchukwu Okoye, and Ebele Agbasiele.

The latest update came less than two weeks after U.S. authorities added 18 Nigerians to the deportation list as part of the ongoing crackdown on immigration-related crimes.
