RCCG Marks Adeboye’s Birthday with Nationwide Tech Empowerment Drive
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Continent 3, has rolled out a large-scale digital empowerment initiative that will provide free technology training to 8,400 participants as part of activities marking the 84th birthday of its General Overseer, Enoch Adeboye.
The programme, scheduled to begin on March 1, 2026, is designed to equip young Nigerians with in-demand digital competencies while addressing persistent unemployment and limited access to technology-driven opportunities across the country.
In a statement released in Lagos, the Overseer of RCCG Continent 3, Pastor Johnson Funsho Odesola, said the initiative aligns with Adeboye’s longstanding commitment to youth empowerment, education, and societal development.
He noted that the project reflects the church’s vision of nurturing individuals who can make meaningful contributions to national growth.
Odesola explained that participants will receive training in high-demand areas such as graphic design, video editing, digital marketing, animation, social media management, content creation, and strategies for monetising digital skills.
These fields, he said, are critical for entrepreneurship and employability in Nigeria’s expanding digital landscape.
Describing the initiative as more than a ceremonial gesture, he said the project represents a deliberate effort to create economic opportunities and help beneficiaries compete effectively in the global digital marketplace.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Love Transformation Academy, Pastor Olalekan Adebekun, disclosed that RCCG parishes across provinces, regions and zones within Continent 3 will function as learning hubs for the programme.
Training sessions will be conducted virtually via Zoom, enabling participants to join from designated church centres within their communities.
Adebekun said this approach ensures that individuals who lack personal internet access or digital devices can still participate by using facilities provided at church locations.
He added that the structure will also provide mentorship, monitoring, and integration support for participants, regardless of their religious affiliation.
He encouraged youths, students, job seekers, entrepreneurs and members of the public to take advantage of the opportunity, stressing that the initiative is expected to stimulate employment, strengthen freelance careers, and cultivate a new wave of digitally skilled professionals.
The programme is being coordinated by Love Transformation Academy, the outreach arm of RCCG Love Assembly, Lagos Province 1, in collaboration with Faith Cometh Multimedia Consultants. Organisers said the partnership combines the church’s grassroots network with professional digital training expertise to widen access to technology skills and contribute to national development.
