APC youths in Kogi State have raised ₦100 million to purchase the 2027 presidential nomination form for President Bola Tinubu.
The donation was announced during a massive rally held at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja on Sunday.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo received the cheque on behalf of the President, calling the gesture a “bold statement of confidence.” He noted, “The youths of Kogi State have spoken with one loud, clear and courageous voice. This endorsement is not emotional; it is informed.”
The group stated the funds represent appreciation for the “Renewed Hope” agenda, which they credit with improving agriculture and skills acquisition. Commissioner Monday Aridaya Anebei presented the money as a symbolic investment by the youth in Tinubu’s leadership.
Governor Ododo highlighted that 94% of his administration’s appointees are under 35, reflecting the President’s focus on youth inclusion. He praised Tinubu for implementing tough reforms necessary for Nigeria’s long-term economic sustainability and growth.
The donation has sparked mixed reactions, with some critics questioning the source of the funds amid national economic hardship. Opponents argued that such a large sum could have been better spent addressing local unemployment and infrastructure gaps.
Despite the debate, APC youth leaders pledged to continue mobilizing support across Kogi’s 21 local government areas. They maintain the donation reflects a collective resolve to ensure continuity and a stable future under the current presidency.
