ESUT Governing Council Chairman Ohaa Resigns

Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, Chairman of the Governing Council of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), has resigned from his position.
His resignation was confirmed in a letter addressed to the Visitor to the university, Governor Peter Mbah, effective February 23, 2026.
In his resignation letter, Ohaa expressed gratitude to the state government for giving him the opportunity to serve the institution and contribute to its growth.
He described his tenure as a rewarding experience and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the advancement of education in Enugu State even outside official office.
Ohaa, a seasoned public servant, previously served as a federal permanent secretary in several ministries, including the Power Ministry and the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), where he built a reputation for administrative leadership and public service.
Although the reasons for his resignation were not officially disclosed, sources familiar with the development said the decision was personal.
There has been no official announcement yet on who will replace him as chairman of the university’s governing council.
ESUT is one of the prominent state-owned universities in southeastern Nigeria, known for its focus on science and technology education.
