Akhilomen Victory

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered a large-scale warehouse operation in Lagos State stocked with banned, counterfeit, and unregistered cosmetic products estimated to be worth more than ₦3 billion.

The illegal stockpile was discovered at the APT Trade Fair Complex, a well-known commercial hub in Lagos. According to the agency, the products found at the location had not been approved for sale and distribution, with several items falling under the category of prohibited or falsified cosmetics.

NAFDAC officials described the discovery as a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to clamp down on the circulation of unsafe and substandard beauty products in the market.

The agency reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public health by intensifying surveillance and enforcement activities across the country.

Investigations into the warehouse operation are ongoing, as authorities work to trace those responsible for importing, distributing, and storing the illegal cosmetic products.
