Tragedy as 11 Die When Tree Fell on Vehicles in Udi, Enugu State
Enugu State Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has extended condolences to families and communities affected by the death of 11 people after a tree fell on two vehicles in Udi Local Government Area.

In a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, the governor said preliminary police reports indicate that the vehicles were transporting passengers from Old Park, Enugu, to Awhum and Okpatu when strong winds amid heavy rainfall caused the tree to collapse.
“I received with a deep sense of grief the news of the tragic incident at Awhum Village/Market Square in Udi LGA of Enugu State on Wednesday, where a large tree fell on two vehicles, claiming eleven lives,” Mbah wrote.
The governor described the event as a deeply painful loss and offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the victims’ souls, while pledging the government’s support to the bereaved families and affected communities.
