No Building Will Be Demolished Without Compensation, Assures Uba Sani
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has assured residents that no property will be demolished without fair and adequate compensation.
The governor made the pledge during a compensation distribution event for households affected by ongoing road projects in the state. Governor Sani emphasized that development should not come at the expense of citizens’ rights, and that his administration is committed to ensuring that affected property owners are properly compensated before any demolition takes place. Speaking at the event in Rigasa, the governor noted that 189 households were set to receive compensation cheques as part of the government’s effort to mitigate the impact of road construction projects, including works on Makera Road, Lokoja Road, Ado Gwaram Road, and the Asmau Makarfi Spur. He added that the administration has already disbursed a total of ₦2.85 billion to affected households across other locations such as Mahuta, Zaria, Dogon Bauchi, and the Kabala Costain corridor. The governor also announced a temporary slowdown of construction activities in certain areas to allow for detailed assessments and proper compensation arrangements. Public interest should never override private rights without restitution,” Governor Sani stated, stressing that his government is committed to fairness and justice in all its developmental initiatives.
