Reno Omokri Visits Family of Disappeared Activist Dadiyata

By 𝔸bdulrazak Tomiwa

Khadija Ahmad Lame, the wife of missing activist Abubakar Idris (Dadiyata), made a heartbreaking plea during a visit from Reno Omokri, the former presidential aide.

She urged those holding her husband to “fear God” and return him “dead or alive” to provide the family closure.

Reno Omokri, who traveled to the family’s residence in Kaduna to show solidarity, used the visit to draw fresh national attention to the case. He listened as Khadija recounted the trauma of witnessing her husband being bundled away by armed men nearly seven years ago.

During the visit, Omokri highlighted the government’s failure to provide answers, noting that the disappearance remains a dark stain on the nation’s human rights record. He emphasized that no citizen should vanish without a trace in a democratic society.

The family shared with Omokri how the uncertainty led to the death of Dadiyata’s mother, who passed away in a Kaduna hospital from the heartbreak of her son’s absence. Omokri expressed deep concern over the “enforced disappearance” and the psychological toll on the activist’s young children.

In response to the plea, Omokri joined the call for the authorities to act on recent claims made by former Governor Nasir El-Rufai. He stressed that the conflicting reports between political leaders regarding Dadiyata’s whereabouts must be professionally investigated to find the truth.

Khadija told Omokri, “We pray one day, he will come back, if he is alive or not.” Omokri pledged to keep the conversation alive on social media, insisting that the activist’s name must not be forgotten until justice is served.
