President Tinubu Launches Free JAMB Registration for 50,000 South-East Students

President Bola Tinubu, through his “Renewed Hope Agenda,” has launched a free JAMB registration initiative targeting 50,000 students across the South-East region.

The program provides ₦8,500 to each beneficiary to cover the full cost of registration for the upcoming examinations.

The initiative allocates 10,000 slots to each of the five states in the region: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo. It was officially flagged off in Enugu and Abakaliki on Tuesday by the South-East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) coordination team.

National Coordinator Belusochukwu Enwerem described the project as a “movement of hope” aimed at removing financial barriers to higher education. He emphasized that the program is a strategic investment intended to produce future doctors, engineers, and leaders for the nation.

The sponsorship is designed to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians while ensuring no qualified student is left behind due to poverty. Stakeholders have hailed the intervention as a timely boost for human capital development in the zone.

Beneficiaries have been urged to reciprocate the gesture by approaching their studies with discipline and excellence. This educational support aligns with broader national reforms, such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), to improve access to tertiary schooling.
