The FCT Command of the NSCDC has arrested 10 suspects for kidnapping, vandalism, and theft.
The operations spanned the FCT and neighboring states to tackle rising criminal activities.
Commandant Olusola Odumosu paraded the suspects on Tuesday, including members of a kidnapping syndicate. Others were caught targeting critical national infrastructure for theft and destruction.
Odumosu credited intelligence-led raids for the successful arrests and recovery of stolen items. He stated, “The Command will not rest on its oars until the FCT is rid of all criminal elements who seek to sabotage the peace and infrastructure of the nation.”
One major arrest dismantled a gang linked to abductions in satellite towns. The NSCDC tracked them to hideouts where they were planning further attacks on the public.
The Commandant warned that vandals targeting streetlights and cables would face the full weight of the law. He emphasized that protecting public property is vital for the city’s development.
The suspects remain in custody pending further investigation and will soon be charged to court. Odumosu urged residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to sustain the fight against crime.
