The announcement came from Minister of Works, David Umahi, during an inspection of federal road projects in the areas. According to the minister, the visit is scheduled for May 12, 2026, and will include the commissioning of several major infrastructure and road projects.
Umahi noted that key highways, including the Aba–Port Harcourt corridor, are nearing completion and are expected to be ready before the president’s tour. He said the projects are part of ongoing efforts to enhance regional connectivity and support economic growth.
While details of the president’s itinerary have not been disclosed, the tour highlights the administration’s focus on completing critical infrastructure across the country.
