Kaduna Police Kill Bandits, Recover Weapons, Arrest 17 Suspects
The Kaduna State Police Command has neutralised several bandits, seized firearms, and arrested 17 individuals during a four-day operation targeting criminal hideouts across parts of the state.
The clearance operation, which took place between February 10 and 13, 2026, focused on known bandit camps in Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi, and Kauru Local Government Areas. During coordinated raids, several bandit hideouts were dismantled, and armed confrontations led to the elimination of multiple suspects.
Authorities also apprehended suspected informants and individuals supplying drugs to criminal networks. Weapons recovered from the operation included three AK-47 rifles, seven locally fabricated firearms, and one English-made pistol, alongside a substantial quantity of illicit substances believed to be for criminal distribution.
The 17 arrested suspects, some of whom sustained gunshot injuries and are receiving medical care, are providing intelligence to assist investigators in dismantling wider criminal networks operating in the affected areas. The detainees include Ahamdu Bala, Abdullahi Alh. Fulani, Ado Bayero Reku, Samaila Bala, Nasiru Rabiu, Ibrahim Bello, Jafar Adamu, Nura Abdullahi, Adamu Alh. Raini, Adamu Haruna, Ado Babwuro, Shuaibu Sa’idu, Isiya Bammi (alias Kire), Kabiru Adamu, Habibu Rabiu, Suleiman Adam, and Abubakar Idris.
The state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ongoing intelligence-led operations to eliminate banditry and illegal arms proliferation.
He emphasised collaboration with the military, the Department of State Services, and other security agencies to strengthen the state’s security framework and urged residents to remain vigilant while providing timely and credible information to support law enforcement efforts.
