The Enugu Police Command have arrested three suspects and recovered firearms, ammunition, and illicit drugs.

The arrests were conducted by the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad following credible intelligence reports.

Emmanuel Mba, 31, and Nnam Onukwube, 35, were apprehended in Enugu South. Both confessed to membership in the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, with Mba identified as the group’s “executioner” and local leader.

Police seized a pump-action gun, a Beretta-type pistol, and 31 live cartridges during the operation. They also recovered a motorcycle, a laptop, and a large quantity of suspected cannabis.

In a separate raid in Agbani, 32-year-old Monday Ezeani was detained as SP Daniel Ndukwe noted that “following screening, he was found in possession of dried substance suspected to be cannabis sativa and 39 pellets of suspected crystal methamphetamine (“Mkpuru-mmiri”).”

While seven others were released after screening, Ezeani remains in custody for carrying these significant quantities of narcotics. The command is currently profiling the suspects for further legal action.

Commissioner Mamman Giwa warned that cultists and drug traffickers must repent or face the law.

He reaffirmed the command’s dedication to maintaining peace and protecting residents across the state.
