ADC Youth Distances Self from Peter Obi’s Recent Statements

The African Democratic Congress Youth Wing has officially dissociated itself from recent remarks made by former presidential candidate Peter Obi, declaring that it neither endorses nor aligns with his statements.

In a statement dated February 14, 2026, and addressed to the general public and the media, the ADC Youth Secretariat at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja clarified that the youth wing maintains an independent position on national matters and should not be linked to Obi’s views.

The statement emphasized that the ADC Youth Wing remains committed to the core values of the ADC and to advancing the welfare of Nigerian youths. It stressed that the group operates independently and is focused on youth empowerment, education, and community development without being influenced by external political actors or individual personalities.

The youth wing further called on the media and the public to recognize the distinction between its stance and that of Obi and to assess the ADC Youth based on its own merits and policies.

The statement was signed by Comrade Ahmed Ibrahim, National Coordinator of ADC Youth.
