Two Babies Found Dead in Family Freezer

By 𝔸bdulrazak Tomiwa

French police have arrested a 44-year-old woman after the bodies of two babies were discovered in a freezer at a family home in Bédoin.

The gruesome discovery was made by a witness who alerted the authorities, leading to an immediate investigation.

The suspect, believed to be the mother of the infants, was taken into custody on Thursday for questioning. Forensic experts are currently working to determine the age of the babies and the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

The local prosecutor, Hélène Mourges, confirmed that a criminal investigation has been launched to uncover the truth behind the tragedy. She noted that the suspect’s psychological state is also being evaluated as part of the legal proceedings.

Residents of the quiet village expressed disbelief as police cordoned off the residence to gather evidence. Autopsies are scheduled to take place in the coming days to establish if the infants were born alive.

The woman remains in detention as investigators piece together the timeline of the events. If charged and convicted, she could face life imprisonment for the murder of minors under the age of 15.
