Shettima Heads to Ethiopia for 39th AU Summit

Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for Addis Ababa to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 39th African Union Summit.Â
He joins other continental leaders to address critical issues facing Africa.
The summit’s theme focuses on building resilient education systems for the 21st century. Shettima will advocate for better access to quality learning and skills acquisition to empower Africa’s youth.
The Vice President will also join high-level talks on regional security and democratic stability. Nigeria aims to lead efforts in preventing unconstitutional government changes across the continent.
Discussions on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) are also a priority. Shettima plans to meet with various leaders to boost trade and attract investment into Nigeria.
Senior diplomats and officials accompanied the Vice President to align Nigeria’s national goals with the AU’s Agenda 2063. The delegation will participate in several strategic technical sessions.
